SPECIAL FEATURE

Particular attention was paid to the combination of functionality, sustainability and urban integration. In addition to a well thought-out building structure, aspects of ecological construction and energy efficiency were also required.

The competition for the new construction of the North Fire and Rescue Station in Bremerhaven was a restricted design competition aimed at developing a modern, functional and sustainable building. The aim was to find a solution that would meet the requirements for fire protection, technical assistance and rescue services in the northern part of the city and the overseas port area. The process required selected architectural and planning offices to submit concepts that would ensure both efficient use of space and rapid deployment of firefighters. We took part in collaboration with Gaus Architekten.
